Rhode Island is the first state in the nation to host offshore wind turbines, and it has big plans for more. Rhode Island recently announced that it will look to procure another 600 MW of additional offshore wind, in addition to 400 MW already committed. Massachusetts has its own aggressive offshore wind plan, with Vineyard Wind likely being the first project for the Bay State.
