Market commentary
May 2026 - As you can see from our price graph above, heating oil prices have fluctuated quite a lot in response to positive and negative news regarding the war on Iran. Unfortunately, recent analyses suggest that prices are likely to remain high for some time, even if hostilities subside because oil inventories have shrunk from normal levels.
We strongly encourage you to take whatever steps you can to reduce your oil consumption, whether by adding insulation to your home, tuning up your oil burner, or switching to a high-efficiency cold climate heat pump. This is the best time of year to pursue those options.
